Abandoned Factory is the second level of Painkiller's chapter 3. This level is not available on Daydream difficulty, except in Painkiller: Special Edition.
Description[]
This level is set in a large and as the name implies, abandoned factory. There are very tall, industrial chimneys everywhere as well as old and destroyed buildings. A part from that there is also mysterious and rusty machinery everywhere as well as heating boilers. One of the abandoned factory's buildings has a long tunnel which serves as a conveyor belt that transports various items to a tall chimney which is in bad condition as one of it's walls has been almost completely destroyed.

This level is inhabited mostly by commandos and soldiers - this set of monsters is reflected in every level in the third chapter. They include:
Tarot card[]
The tarot card of this level is Forgiveness. To acquire it, the player has to kill at least 30 enemies in Demon Morph mode.
Secret areas/pickups[]
Five armors can be found in this level:
- The first one (bronze) is behind the security booth at the beginning of the level.
- The second one (silver) is inside the first industrial building.
- The third one (gold) is on one of two cisterns with gas (it is connected with secret #3).
- The fourth one (silver) is inside the smaller industrial building which is next to the bigger one.
- The fifth one (gold) is inside of a small industrial chimney which is connected to other chimneys.

The first secret is located on the small roof which is adjacent to the first industrial building that the player enters into. It is reached by going onto the small windowsill adjacent to a broken window and then trying to jump onto the next one behind the corner and then onto the small roof. You can also use one of those big metal boxes outside to magically catapult you onto the roof (I don't know how else to describe it). | Video |

The second secret is located inside third from the left industrial boiler. It is reached by shooting at the cover of it and then with placing one of the abrupted hooks next to the damaged wall. Then climb onto it and go straight into the boiler. | Video |

The third secret is located on one of two cisterns with gas. It is reached by taking the abrupted hook next to the cistern, standing on it and using it as an ramp by attacking it via Painkiller to reach it. Bunny jumping like a mad-man also works. | Video |

Trivia[]
- This level does not work in the 1.51 version of the Russian release of Painkiller: Battle out of Hell, making progression impossible on any difficulty except Daydream.
- ↑ 1.0 1.1 It is not possible to destroy three containers containing 12 total gold at the end of the level, preventing 5 stars completion and collection of all gold.
- Version 1.51 is the only one that tried to fix this oversight; however, the level itself doesn't work to be noticeable.
