Skeleton warriors (also called zombie warriors) are enemies that appear in Painkiller. The most basic and numerous troops of Lucifers army. Originally souls of dead human warriors, they were brought back to their decaying bodies to serve Lucifer. As a result, they often don't have to be teleported from hell because they can just erupt from ground where they were buried. Skeleton warriors are the first minions that Daniel encounters in game.
Skeleton swordsmen Edit
Skeleton swordsmen wield longswords and wear white ornate armor. They only appear in Cemetery and are the first enemies that player encounters. They attack by swinging their sword above player and performing overhead slash. However, higher ranked skeleton warriors (warlords; see below) can decapitate them, sending them into spinning whirlwind attack.
Skeleton macemen Edit
|Featured in:||Catacombs; Enclave|
Skeleton macemen are just like their sword counterparts, expect that they have maces instead of swords and rusty, older armor. They appear in Catacombs level and Enclave when Necrogiant summons them to distract player. Enclave macemen don't drop souls on death. Skeleton macemen simply smash their mace at player, but are able to perform spin attack after warlords decapitate them. These enemies can also be brought back from death by warlord necromancer warriors.
Skeleton warlords Edit
Skeleton warlords are advanced skeleton warriors, that are higher ranked than swordsmen and macemen. They are much taller than player and their subordinates. Warlords wield one-handed sword and shield. They attack by slashing player twice, or smashing their shield and slashing once. They have unique ability to behead lower ranked skeleton warriors, which sends them into spinning frenzy attack. These enemies only appear in Cemetery level.
Skeleton necromancer warlords Edit
|Skeleton necromancer warlords|
Skeleton necromancer warlords have all the abilities of ordinary warlords, expect they possess dark power of necromancy, allowing them to resurrect fallen skeleton macemen. They differ from cemetery warlords visually hovewer, as their appear less decayed. This is probably caused by their necromantic abilities that allow them to slow down their decaying process. They only appear in Catacombs level.
